Welcome to the Department of Agriculture, City University.
The world is in an era of rapid technological advances amidst growing needs for increased food security and environmental conservation. Modern agriculture must address these interacting realities through relevant education and training of key stakeholders involved in different stages of food production. The Department of Agriculture City University of Bangladesh is Bangladesh’s premier institution for tertiary education in Agriculture and our mission is to produce quality graduates in the field of Agricultural Sciences through quality teaching, research and extension services.

We are a young and vibrant entity that is continually evolving to meet the changing needs and challenges of contemporary agriculture. The Department of Agriculture has an energetic and highly-motivated complement of friendly staff with a wide range of expertise and research interests. We offer an exciting and enriching experience for both students and staff as they work together to achieve our training and educational goals while fostering their individual development. We have strong links with several institutions and organizations that collaborate with us to conduct research and deliver quality education to our students through guest lectures, field trips and attachments. Field trips and attachments not only provide students with valuable practical exposure that enhances their learning and social skills, but also add some fun and adventure to make the university experience wholesome and enjoyable.

Our Department places a strong emphasis on the all-round development of our students. There are several extra-curricular activities that provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, nurture and showcase their talents and play a meaningful role in the life and activities of the Department. There is the Agriculture Club which is a vibrant student-run organization that hosts social events throughout the year. Students represent the Faculty in competitive games and also play active roles in showcasing the Department at several national events.

So, if you are contemplating an agriculture-related career consider the Department of Agriculture, City University of Bangladesh. Come and be part of our team of enthusiastic students and staff who are excited about taking national and regional agriculture to the next level.
